Bocas del Toro,
Isla Providencia, Roatan Honduras
January 31 – February 17 Island hopping and offshore sailing
$3400 per person
You will join the ship in Bocas del Toro Panama January 31 and enjoy 3 nights aboard here. We then depart Panama for the ~3 day offshore passage to Isla Providencia Colombia, 150 miles off the coast of Nicaragua. We will stay in Providencia for 4 days to explore the island and reefs. This English speaking island is owned by Colombia. The Island is a beautiful unspoiled destination with great snorkeling and friendly people. It has the 3rd largest barrier reef and is a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. The infamous pirate Henry Morgan used Providencia as a base for raiding the Spanish empire, and rumors suggest that much of his treasure remains hidden on the island. Many parts of the island are named after Morgan. Forts and cannons dating back hundreds of years can be found scattered all over Santa Catalina Island.
The diving here is amazing with lots of sharks and stingrays. Plus there are some great hikes to the mountain peaks. A trip to Providencia wouldn’t be complete without an evening at the infamous Rolands reggae beach bar, and a mixed lunch platter at El Divino Nino beach restaurant.
Isla Providencia Harbor
From Providencia we will have a 3 day sail to Isla Guanaja Honduras, one of the 3 Bay Islands located ~30 miles off the coast of Honduras. Guanaja is the least visited of the 3 Bay Islands. The island’s warm, clear waters support an extensive coral reef that is part of the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef and second only to the Great Barrier Reef off the coast of Australia. This reef system extends along the coast of four countries: Mexico, Belize, Guatemala, and Honduras. It begins near the northern tip of the Yucatan Peninsula and continues south down the eastern coast of Belize extending past the north-east corner of Guatemala and ends near the Bay Islands of Honduras. The diving here is spectacular! You will depart the ship on Roatan where the international airport is located.
All meals are included with the exception of 3 meals ashore in Providencia and 3 meals ashore in Honduras.
February 20 – 26 Island hopping in Honduras
